ROSEROMANTIC® – cream-pink bedding floribunda rose – Kordes
Bring gentle cottage-garden charm to a front bed or border with Roseromantic®, a compact floribunda that keeps its bushy shape neat and naturally tidy with good self-cleaning blooms. Its cream-pink, cup-shaped flowers repeat in generous clusters, giving long-season colour without demanding complex pruning or feeding routines. Bred by Kordes for strong health, it offers reliable resistance to common fungal problems, which is especially reassuring in damp, changeable British summers with persistent humidity and intermittent showers. This own-root plant settles securely, forming a stable framework for long-term longevity in small and medium gardens. Whether you grow it in a flowerbed or a substantial container, its compact, upright structure combines easily with perennials and low shrubs. Expect a calm, steady development arc in your garden, with roots establishing in the first year, top growth building in the second, and full ornamental impact from the third season onwards.

Reasoning
Front garden bed along a path
The compact height and upright, bushy habit help Roseromantic® frame paths and drives without flopping, giving a structured line of flowers that stays in proportion to small front gardens. This balanced habit needs only light annual trimming, suiting busy beginners
Small mixed border with perennials
Its long-flowering, cream-pink clusters bring steady colour that knits together perennials and grasses, while self-cleaning blooms reduce deadheading, keeping the border fresh-looking with fewer chores through the season for the time-pressed homeowner
Cottage-style planting near the house
The soft, romantic colour blend works beautifully with cottage standards like lavender, catmint or foxgloves, adding a gentle, repeat-flowering backdrop that feels traditional yet ordered, ideal for those wanting classic charm without fussy maintenance, appealing to the cottage enthusiast
Low-maintenance family flowerbed
Bred with strong disease resistance, Roseromantic® keeps its dark, glossy foliage clean with minimal spraying, even in wetter seasons, giving families a reliable, good-looking rose that copes well with British rain and wind in exposed spots, reassuring the practical gardener
Feature group of 3–5 roses
Planted in a small group, its repeat flowering and even shrub shape create a rounded focal point that fills out over several years, building into a cohesive feature that matures slowly without becoming unruly, a comfortable choice for the long-term planner
Generous patio container (40–50 litres+)
In a large pot, its moderate size and upright form give good flower coverage without overwhelming the container; own-root resilience helps it regrow well after winter pruning, making it a sound option for paved spaces tended by the urban balcony-owner
Low hedge or border edging
The recommended close planting distances allow Roseromantic® to form a low, flowering hedge that remains neat thanks to its compact structure and good self-cleaning, so shaping is straightforward and can be done with simple annual pruning by the confident novice
Easy-care climate-resilient bed
Selected as a future-proof garden rose with award-winning performance, it combines health, repeat bloom and adaptable growth, remaining presentable in variable UK weather with good tolerance of heavy rain and coastal winds, offering peace of mind to the weather-conscious owner

Technical cultivar profile
Parameter
Data
Name and registration
Roseromantic® is a floribunda bed rose from the Kordes’ Klima-Rosen® collection, registered as KORumneza, also known in exhibition circles as Fire Opal.
Origin and breeding
Bred by Tim-Hermann Kordes (Germany) from unnamed Rosa seedlings; raised by W. Kordes’ Söhne, bred in 2002 and introduced to the market and registered in 2014.
Awards and recognition
Holder of multiple international distinctions, including Geneva Gold medal and State award, The Hague first-class certificate, and several certificates of merit from European and Australian rose trials.
Growth and structural characteristics
Compact, bushy, upright shrub 60–85 cm high and 50–75 cm wide, with dense, dark green, glossy foliage and moderate prickliness, forming a tidy, well-filled, medium-sized garden rose.
Flower morphology
Produces large, semi-double, cup-shaped blooms with around 13–25 petals, carried mainly in clusters; remontant habit provides a good second flush and reliable repeat flowering through the season.
Colour data and phenology
Cream base with soft salmon-pink overlay; buds cream-yellow with pink blush, opening to powdery pink outer petals and cream-white centres, gradually fading to an even off-white as flowers age.
Fragrance and aroma
This cultivar is effectively unscented, with no noticeable fragrance; the semi-double flowers offer only limited pollen access, so it is considered only partially attractive to garden pollinators.
Hip characteristics
Capable of forming small, ellipsoid hips around 5–7 mm in diameter; hips colour to a bright orange-red, adding a discreet late-season decorative note where spent blooms are not removed.
Resistance and winter hardiness
Exhibits very good resistance to powdery mildew, black spot and rust; hardy to approximately –21 to –18 °C (RHS H7), suitable for USDA Zone 6b and comparable northern European climates.
Horticultural recommendations
Best in beds, borders or large containers; plant 35–65 cm apart depending on use, at 5.7–6.6 plants/m² in mass plantings; low maintenance with occasional feeding, watering and light annual pruning.
Roseromantic® offers compact structure, long-lasting colour and dependable disease resistance in an own-root form that settles in for years of reliable performance, making it a thoughtful choice for easy-going British gardens.

Information about the videos
The video series is not a “seasonal showcase”; it illustrates the essence of pharmaROSA® own-root cultivation in a tangible way: how the plant is built up, what the root system is like and how the shoot system regenerates. The recordings were therefore made at different times and with plants at various stages of development, so mixed foliage levels and differing stages of growth may appear in the videos. They are not a ‘sample’ of the batch dispatched, but a visual explanation of how the technology works. The current condition of the rose available to order — typical for the given period and similar to what you can expect to receive in the parcel — is shown in the upper part of the product page.
