Imola™ – deep pink dwarf miniature rose – Győry

compact and naturally neat, Imola™ is the ideal dwarf rose for small beds, pots and busy front gardens where you want colour without effort. Its remontant flowering covers the plant in deep pink clusters from early summer right through the season, bringing a reliable cottage feel to edging, paths and doorstep plantings. Bred for resistant performance, it copes well with typical British humidity and blustery showers, while still managing demanding situations such as heavier soils when drainage is improved. With low maintenance needs and good drought tolerance, it suits containers on sunny patios as well as narrow borders around the house. As an own-root rose it builds a stable, durable framework, regenerating from the base and giving long lifespan value in a small space. Think in terms of gentle development: in the first year it focuses on roots, the second on strong shoots, and by the third year it reaches its full ornamental potential as a tidy, flower-packed mini hedge.

Usage options

Target area Reasoning
Front-garden edging along paths or driveways Its naturally compact 20–30 cm habit forms a low, even edging that stays in proportion with small front gardens and narrow paths. Regular clusters of deep pink flowers give a defined, tidy line without complex pruning, ideal when you want a calm, ordered look for beginners.
Small mixed cottage beds near the house Continuous, remontant flowering means Imola™ brings bright colour through much of the season, weaving easily among perennials and low shrubs. Its semi-double blooms are attractive yet unobtrusive, supporting a relaxed cottage style without dominating the planting, suiting those who like informal charm for busy-owners.
Containers and large patio pots (minimum 40–50 litres) The dwarf size makes it perfect for roomy containers where roots can stay cool and stable, even on paved patios. In a 40–50 litre pot with drainage, it combines steady growth, good drought tolerance and easy watering access, matching the needs of balcony and terrace gardeners such as urban-owners.
Low miniature rose hedging to frame beds Planted at 15–20 cm intervals, its uniform height and compact build create a precise miniature hedge with little shaping required. Own-root growth ensures gaps can refill from the base over time, making a long-lived living border ideal for those planning lasting structure for homeowners.
Family gardens with limited maintenance time Good resistance to black spot, powdery mildew and rust means fewer sprays and less monitoring, useful where garden time competes with work and family. The plant holds its shape naturally, needing only basic annual trimming, reassuring anyone who prefers straightforward care for casual-gardeners.
Exposed or weather-prone spots in small gardens The low, sturdy framework stands up well to wind and rain, with dense, matt foliage that keeps its appearance in unsettled weather. This makes it suitable for slightly more open, breezier plots or corners that catch the wind, particularly in suburban settings for practical-owners.
Gardens with challenging or alkaline soils Imola™ tolerates higher soil pH and copes with heavier conditions when drainage is improved, allowing confident planting in many typical UK plots. Its own-root system adapts gradually to the native soil, building resilience and long-term stability valued by cautious but style-conscious gardeners.
Colour-focused miniature displays and exhibition miniatures As an exhibition miniature, its small, cup-shaped, evenly coloured deep pink blooms on short stems lend themselves to neat, show-style groupings. Repeat flowering supports multiple flushes for cut stems or table pieces with a consistently vivid tone, appealing to detail-oriented enthusiasts.

Styling ideas

  • Pathway-ribbon – line both sides of a front path with Imola™ at 15–20 cm spacings for a continuous pink ribbon that frames the entrance – ideal for homeowners wanting classic, tidy kerb appeal.
  • Cottage-mix – mix Imola™ with hardy geraniums and dwarf lavender in a small bed for layered pinks and mauves with soft foliage texture – suited to lovers of informal cottage style.
  • Patio-centrepiece – plant three Imola™ in a 50 litre terracotta pot, underplant with trailing thyme for scent and ground cover – perfect for balcony and terrace gardeners seeking low-care impact.
  • Mini-parterre – use Imola™ to edge small square or circular beds, enclosing herbs or low perennials to echo traditional knot gardens in a compact form – appealing to design-conscious hobby gardeners.
  • Contrasting-duo – pair Imola™ with blue-flowered clematis in a large container or near an obelisk so the rich pink roses anchor the base while clematis climbs above – ideal for those who enjoy vertical accents in small spaces.

Growth and structural characteristics Very compact dwarf shrub 20–30 cm high and wide, with moderately dense, matt, medium green foliage and moderate prickliness; naturally forms a low, rounded cushion habit.

Information about the videos
The video series is not a “seasonal showcase”; it illustrates the essence of pharmaROSA® own-root cultivation in a tangible way: how the plant is built up, what the root system is like and how the shoot system regenerates. The recordings were therefore made at different times and with plants at various stages of development, so mixed foliage levels and differing stages of growth may appear in the videos. They are not a ‘sample’ of the batch dispatched, but a visual explanation of how the technology works. The current condition of the rose available to order — typical for the given period and similar to what you can expect to receive in the parcel — is shown in the upper part of the product page.
