GRAND PALACE® – burgundy bedding floribunda rose
For those who want a dependable rose that simply performs, GRAND PALACE® offers a compact, bushy shape and neat habit that suits the classic British front garden. Its velvety burgundy flowers appear in generous clusters, repeating steadily through the season to keep small beds and borders in constant colour. As an own-root plant, it builds a naturally balanced bush and recovers well after pruning, supporting a long, steady life in the garden. Planted with reasonable drainage it copes reassuringly well in wetter, wind-exposed conditions typical of many UK plots. Year by year it settles in: first investing in roots, then building confident shoots, and by the third season delivering its full ornamental impact with minimal intervention from you. Ideal where you want structured planting that remains attractive and manageable for busy households. GRAND PALACE® fits effortlessly into mixed cottage schemes and low hedging, giving you a practical, good-looking solution you can enjoy without becoming a full-time gardener – a genuinely easy, compact, reliable, velvety, own-root, long-lived, floribunda, ornamental choice.

Reasoning
Front garden bed by the path
The compact, bushy habit keeps its shape without dominating narrow spaces, while the floribunda-style clusters give strong colour from a modest footprint. Ideal for smart, tidy entrances that still feel welcoming for busy beginners.
Small mixed border in a family garden
Reliable repeat flowering in rich burgundy brings structure and depth to mixed borders, sitting comfortably with perennials and small shrubs. It offers predictable performance without intricate care, supporting confident plans for aesthetic home-owners.
Low flowering hedge along a drive or boundary
The consistent height and compact spread make it easy to line paths or edges at regular spacings, forming a low hedge that reads as one continuous band of colour. Own-root growth gives solidity over time, suiting practical planners.
Small group planting in a formal front bed
Planted in groups of three to five, the velvety dark flowers combine into a rich block of colour that feels deliberate and refined. This suits simple, formal layouts where you want impact from just one reliable rose for style-conscious gardeners.
Container planting on patio or terrace
The naturally compact growth adapts well to large containers of at least 40–50 litres, providing a long-lived feature for paved spaces. With decent watering and feeding it flowers steadily, adding structure and colour for urban balcony owners.
Cottage-style border with traditional companions
The deep burgundy, velvety blooms anchor softer planting such as Alchemilla and airy perennials, creating the layered, slightly informal look of classic cottage gardens. Repeat flowering keeps the scene coherent through summer for romantic stylists.
Family garden focal point near seating
The double, cup-shaped flowers and mild rose fragrance make a pleasant, low-effort focal point beside seating areas. Its own-root resilience supports gentle pruning experiments without risk to the plant, ideal for building confidence in new gardeners.
Exposed or rain-prone border in typical UK weather
Moderate disease resistance with good black spot tolerance helps it remain presentable even in damp, breezy seasons, especially where soil drains reasonably and avoids waterlogging after heavy rain and wind. This reassures time-poor family gardeners.
Styling ideas
Regal edging – repeat GRAND PALACE® at regular intervals along a path to create a low, palace-inspired line of burgundy colour – ideal for homeowners wanting formal structure with minimal upkeep.
Cottage contrast – mix with Alchemilla mollis and soft pink perennials so the dark, velvety blooms pop against lime and pastel tones – perfect for cottage-garden fans seeking classic charm without complex designs.
Patio feature – plant a single bush in a 50-litre terracotta pot with trailing thyme at the rim for a compact, long-lived accent – suited to balcony and courtyard users with little planting space.
Low hedge rhythm – use rows at 35–45 cm spacing to form a short hedge that defines lawns or driveways while staying easy to clip and manage – good for families wanting order around play and parking areas.
Evening focus – position near a seating area where the deep colour and gentle fragrance enrich summer evenings – appealing to busy professionals who relax outdoors but prefer straightforward plant care.

Information about the videos
The video series is not a “seasonal showcase”; it illustrates the essence of pharmaROSA® own-root cultivation in a tangible way: how the plant is built up, what the root system is like and how the shoot system regenerates. The recordings were therefore made at different times and with plants at various stages of development, so mixed foliage levels and differing stages of growth may appear in the videos. They are not a ‘sample’ of the batch dispatched, but a visual explanation of how the technology works. The current condition of the rose available to order — typical for the given period and similar to what you can expect to receive in the parcel — is shown in the upper part of the product page.
