BRIDGET HIT® – pink dwarf-mini rose - Olesen & Olesen

This compact miniature rose has been selected for easy-care planting in real British family gardens, where you want reliable colour without demanding routines. Its own-root form settles quickly and forms a stable, long-lived bush that copes well with typical UK conditions and, with sensible soil preparation, handles heavier ground and wet spells without fuss. The tidy, compact habit (around 25–35 cm high and wide) makes it ideal for front gardens, balcony tubs and neat little borders, while the raspberry-pink blooms open in waves from early summer. Each very double, cup-shaped flower carries a surprisingly strong fresh citrus fragrance, so even a small planting delivers noticeable scent around paths, doorways and seating areas. Heat-tolerant and healthy, it repeats well in containers of at least 40–50 litres or in the ground, building year by year into a dense, reliable mound. In your first season it concentrates on rooting, in the second you see stronger shoots, and by the third it reaches its full ornamental impact with abundant flowering and a well-anchored, enduring structure.

Usage options

Target areaReasoning
Small front garden beds The naturally compact, bushy habit keeps its shape without complex pruning, so it fits narrow front borders and around-the-house beds where space is tight. The modest height means it will not overwhelm paths or low windowsills, suiting time-poor, looks-focused beginners.
Terrace and balcony containers Bred for patio use, it performs reliably in pots, provided you choose a 40–50 litre container with drainage and regular watering. The neat size and repeat flowering bring colour close to seating areas, working well for busy urban homeowners.
Low edging and path lining Planted at the recommended close spacing, the dense foliage and uniform 25–35 cm height create a tidy, low edging that is easy to keep in line with simple annual trimming. This suits tidy, family-friendly cottage-style gardens.
Small groups in cottage-style borders Groups of three to five plants give a solid block of raspberry-pink, double blooms that stand out among perennials. Its repeat flowering and fragrance add continuity in mixed cottage schemes for visually driven garden enthusiasts.
Low-maintenance feature near entrances The combination of strong citrus scent and attractive, fading pink colour makes it ideal by front doors or gateways where you pass daily. Once established, seasonal pruning and feeding are straightforward tasks for casual gardeners.
Heat-exposed, sheltered corners Good heat tolerance and healthy foliage mean it copes well on sunny, reflective patios or against warm walls, as long as the soil drains reasonably and does not stay waterlogged after rain, reassuring climate-aware UK planters.
Formal geometric plantings Its even growth, recommended spacing and miniature size lend themselves to geometric layouts or low knot-style beds that stay readable without constant clipping, attractive to design-conscious but time-limited owners.
Long-term own-root rose areas As an own-root plant it develops a stable framework that regenerates well from the base, giving reliable long-term structure; the first year focuses on establishment, then it steadily strengthens for confident, patient rose starters.

Styling ideas

  • Cottage Path Edge – line a front-garden path with short rows of BRIDGET HIT® and intersperse low lavender for scent layers – suited to lovers of traditional cottage charm.
  • Balcony Feature Pot – plant three roses in a 50-litre terracotta container with trailing thyme around the rim – ideal for urban dwellers wanting easy patio impact.
  • Raspberry Accent Border – combine small groups of BRIDGET HIT® with tall phlox and blue verbena for a pink–blue contrast – perfect for colour-focused beginners.
  • Neat Front Door Pair – place matching large pots either side of the entrance, underplanted with white alyssum – for homeowners seeking a smart, low-fuss welcome.
  • Mini Formal Square – use the rose in a small square or diamond bed edged with box or dwarf hedging – appealing to gardeners who enjoy structured yet manageable layouts.

Resistance and winter hardiness Good general health; resistant to powdery mildew and black spot, moderate rust resistance; hardy approximately to −21 to −18 °C (RHS H7, Swedish zone 3, USDA zone 6b) in well-prepared garden soils.

Information about the videos
The video series is not a “seasonal showcase”; it illustrates the essence of pharmaROSA® own-root cultivation in a tangible way: how the plant is built up, what the root system is like and how the shoot system regenerates. The recordings were therefore made at different times and with plants at various stages of development, so mixed foliage levels and differing stages of growth may appear in the videos. They are not a ‘sample’ of the batch dispatched, but a visual explanation of how the technology works. The current condition of the rose available to order — typical for the given period and similar to what you can expect to receive in the parcel — is shown in the upper part of the product page.
